T-shirt Styling Basics

When it comes to casual wear, nothing works better than a t-shirt and a pair of jeans. A smart t-shirt worn with a stylish pair of denim jeans is the perfect casual look. Everything else falls in place when the look is right. T-shirts have become an integral part of a man’s wardrobe. Earlier people wore t-shirts as the undergarment and today it has become the stylish element of the wardrobe. It is hard to find someone who has never worn a t-shirt. And why not! T-shirts offer a superior level of comfort level unlike any other piece of casual clothing. It is the most versatile piece of clothing. For instance, you can wear a t-shirt along with a blazer, a jacket, a shirt or just plain. You may not realise that there are so many looks you can create with your existing collection of t-shirts. Here is a guide which will help you out to build a simple yet impressive collection of t-shirts.

Do they fit?
This is the first question you should ask yourself when you look at your collection of tees. Do they fit? If the answer is a no, even for a single tee, just get rid of it. Nobody likes a poor fit. A poor fitted t-shirts just spoils your image instantly. It tells the world that you don’t care about yourself. The shoulders, the sleeves, everything needs to fall at the right place. The t-shirts with perfect fitting compliment your physique effortlessly. Achieve the right with the following rules. If you love to flaunt your arms, just a couple of folds and you are good to go. Your t-shirt should comfortably fit the shoulder area. If you have a slim waist, look for t-shirts with a tapered cut so that it does not highlight the area you don’t want to show. A good t-shirt should end where the hips start. The sleeves should not cover your entire arm. Go for a regular fit.

Colours
With all due respect to your choice, opt for basic colours first when you plan to revamp your wardrobe. For those who do not know, the basic colours are black, white, grey and navy blue.
A white t-shirt is just perfect. Nothing is better than a white t-shirt on a hot sunny day. Team it up with a pair of cobalt blue denim jeans and you are good to go. White t-shirts look good on people with all types of skin tones. If it’s a grey, just pick any shade and it will suit you. Grey looks best on people who have a good physique, no offence to all the others. Black, need we say more. Any wardrobe on this earth is incomplete without a bunch of black t-shirts. Just avoid black when it is too hot outside. That’s the only season when we don’t miss black. And, here comes my favourite-navy blue. The best part about a navy blue t-shirt is that it looks as smart as black and it can be worn on both formal and casual occasions. These were the basics; however you can also experiment with other colours preferably on weekends unless you work for creative agencies. T-shirt is the only outfit which allows you to experiment with colours, make the most of it!
